The diversity of research opportunities offered by the training faculty is unparalleled by other programs and is a unique strength of the Toxicology degree-granting program at UNC-CH. Faculty members are highly collaborative, serving as role models for the evolving paradigm of multidisciplinary research and providing trainees exposure to laboratories outside the preceptor’s primary institution.

Students
The Curriculum in Toxicology has 33 enrolled students at different stages of training. Five are first-year students engaged in research rotations and 28 have already selected their primary research advisers among the research training faculty at UNC-CH (16), US EPA (9), and NIEHS (3). The Curriculum student body is 70% female and 30% male; 21% are members of under-represented minorities.
