Nick Rhind, Ph.D., Professor, Biochemistry and Molecular Biotechnology
University of Massachusetts Medical School
Host: Jean Cook
Title: “The Spatial and Temporal Organization of DNA Replication.”
Dr. Rhind has a B.S. in Mathematics and a B.A. with Honors in Biology from Brown University and a Ph.D. in Molecular and Cell Biology from the University of California. He is currently a Professor of Biochemistry and Molecular Biotechnology at UMass Chan Medical School. His lab uses a combination of cell, molecular and computational biology, genetics, genomics and biochemistry to explore a variety of fundamental cell cycle questions, mostly in yeast. His lab is currently focusing on two broad areas: the regulation of DNA replication timing and the regulation of cell size. To read more about Dr. Rhind’s research, please check out his link.
Research: Investigating Cell Cycle Regulation
We use a combination of cell, molecular and computational biology, genetics, genomics and biochemistry to explore a variety of fundamental cell cycle questions, mostly in yeast. The Rhind lab is currently focusing on two broad areas: the regulation of DNA replication timing and the regulation of cell size.
