Postdoc Group inaugural meeting

My name is Kathryn Gunn and I’m a postdoc in Saskia Neher’s lab. It seems like now would be a good time to establish a postdoc group within our department. The idea behind the BCBP postdoc working group would be to give departmental postdocs (and research associates) a community to interact with and come up with suggestions for improving postdoc life in our department. The group will be able to help plan postdoc town halls and bring issues to the attention of the department. Meetings would be on a quarterly basis, so not too much of a time commitment. To get the group started, I’m volunteering to serve as the first chairperson and Wolfgang Bergmeier has volunteered to serve as our faculty advisor. As chair, I’ll help organize the meetings and convey information to the department. We’re planning an inaugural meeting (with lunch!) and we’re looking for volunteers to serve as the vice-chair, who would take over as chair next year.
