3 students standing outsideCongratulations to all our student seminar presentation awardees! To celebrate the end of a successful year of (virtual) student seminars, the department hosted a lunch and award event for all department graduate students.

The BCBP department student seminar series is a student-created initiative that began in 2019 to help students across the department learn more about the research their peers are conducting, while offering everyone the chance to refine their presentation skills amongst peers.

This year’s student seminar series was revamped by graduate students Odessa Goudy, Rodney Park, and Amelia McCue. To support each other academically and recognize the effort it takes to create great presentations, all seminar presenters were eligible for peer-nominated presentation awards across a variety of categories.

An award ceremony was hosted outside on the GMB Lawn with lunch catered from Mediterranean Deli. Awardees were introduced by one of the peers that nominated them for the award and received a certificate of achievement from the department. Based on peer nominations, this year’s student seminar awardees and honorable mentions are listed below.
