BCBP students celebrated Earth Day on April 22, 2021 together with the recently established Environmental Task Force. ETF co-chairs Dalia Fleifel and Abigail Ballard handed out flyers and held discussions about sustainable lab practices and resources available at UNC.
The ETF mission is to increase awareness and provide resources to the BCBP community about environmental sustainability in lab settings and the UNC Chapel Hill community.
The team is working to create a platform of easily accessible resources related to sustainable lab practices for students, postdocs, research technicians, lab managers, and faculty, which can be found on the ETF website. BCBP’s ETF is working towards providing opportunities for labs to become involved in sustainable initiatives in the near future to complement UNC’s Sustainable Carolina program and UNC’s Green Lab program. In the meantime, complete the survey to provide feedback on lab recycling.
