What is MI?

Motivational Interviewing is a person-centered counseling style for addressing the common problem of ambivalence about change. It is designed to strengthen an individual’s motivation for and movement toward a specific goal by eliciting and exploring the person’s own reasons for change within an atmosphere of acceptance, collaboration, and compassion.

What services do we provide?

What you will see in these packages include Motivational Interviewing training, coaching, intervention development, process evaluation, and coding (for fidelity purposes) services. The trainings provide an overview of Motivational Interviewing theory and offers participants an opportunity to practice new MI skills. Coaching focuses on discussing together counselor successes and places where they need additional support. Lastly, intervention development includes creating materials for projects that may involve a MI guide, booklet, visual aids, process evaluation instruments, or coding services for assessment of quality.

The full menu is available in this downloadable PDF.

Trainings are offered as introductory workshops and additional practice and coaching is necessary for increased Motivational Interviewing fidelity. The prices listed are estimates and a more specific amount will be provided after a free phone consultation to determine interests and needs. Fees do not include travel and/or facility costs and supplemental intervention materials may require material and/or production costs.
