About

Jessica Walker recently enrolled for her MPH in Applied Epidemiology because she’s discovered that her passions align more with the applications of her Biostatistics undergraduate degree, rather than the hard math and statistics itself, and has supplemented that with her studies and research in Medical Anthropology. She enjoys public health, health behavior, policy, and epidemiology and is hoping to gain more qualitative experience working with the SBS Core. For the past year, she has been working at the UNC Carolina Population center conducting data abstraction utilizing UNC EPIC medical records, providing statistical methods discourse and spearheading statistical analysis projects. Jessica recently completed the NCTraCS Qualitative research trainings and found the trainings as a great review of topics that have been previously exposed to in her Research Methods courses for her Medical Anthropology major.
