BIOGRAPHY
Jenny Carpenter is an incoming second-year MPH Global Health graduate student and 2024-2025 Student Government Association Graduate Co-President in the Gillings School of Global Public Health. She graduated from Appalachian State University with a B.S. in Cellular/Molecular Biology in 2020 and from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health with an MHS in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology in 2022.
At UNC, Carpenter has served as a teaching assistant in Gillings, a graduate assistant for the Buckley Public Service Scholars and a research assistant with the Global Women’s Health Center. She is currently a practicum student intern working with the CHER CRx-CVD team to enhance community health and reduce barriers for patients with cardiovascular diseases in rural eastern North Carolina. Carpenter’s experiences in clinical/bench lab research, public health, mentoring, advocacy, marketing and healthcare fuel her passion for bridging healthcare gaps in underserved communities.
Carpenter aims to combine public health and medicine along with her experiences at CHER to improve patient care outcomes as a future physician.
