Youth Community Researchers: Edgecombe/Nash Symposium

August 1 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Nash and Edgecombe are thriving communities in North Carolina. Youth from these communities want to be leaders in continuing to grow the community in ways that improve health for all. Throughout this summer, youth have been researching important issues surrounding health and wellness and strengthening their voice for making change. Please join us on August 1 to hear from them about what they have learned about the community and their ideas for creating happy and healthy environments.

The Youth Community Researchers: Edgecombe/Nash program gives youth in Nash and Edgecombe counties an opportunity to learn about and voice important information about their community’s needs and strengths. Through the summer program, youth develop skills in community health research, by developing their own research questions, collecting data, and developing recommendations for change based on their findings. The program is run by a collaboration between OIC, Project GRACE, Project Momentum and the Center for Health Equity Research.
