Neuroscience Microscopy Core: Leica STED Seminar

August 1, 2019 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm

In conjunction with demonstration of the Leica super-resolution STED 3X/FALCON/FCS microscope, Chris Ott, Leica Confocal Applications Specialist, will review the technological advances that will be available on the system and give advice for sample preparation for the hand-on demonstrations.

The Neuroscience Microscopy Core is hosting the demonstration of the Leica super-resolution STED 3X/FALCON/FCS microscope from September 2nd to September 13th.  This state-of-the-art confocal microscope is ideal for imaging projects that require pushing beyond resolution limits (even below 50nm) for 3D structures with super-resolution STED capabilities in 3D.  This microscope is also equipped to do FRET, fluorescence lifetime and fluorescence correlation spectroscopy to measure dynamic interactions in live cells, tissues and organisms.

Features:

• LIGHTNING super-resolution down to 120nm and below 50nm when combined with
Leica Microsystems’ STED 3X.
• FALCON the future of functional imaging. FRET, fluorescence lifetime, metabolic imaging and more at 10x
faster than conventional systems.
• FCS data acquisition with up to 4 Hybrid Detectors (HyD) simultaneously.
