Katie Eimers serves as UNC Health’s Chief Culture and Engagement Officer. In this capacity, she works with leaders from across the organization to ensure that UNC Health is the best place for teammates to work and to create a place of belonging through a set of shared values.

Katie Eimers has been a key leader at UNC Health for more than 10 years. She first joined the UNC School of Medicine in 2011 as the Department of Pediatrics Vice Chair for Strategic Initiatives. In 2017, she was elevated to the role of Associate Dean for Administration within the School of Medicine, overseeing several key administrative functions including Human Resources, Information Technology and Space Planning.

From 2019 – 2023, she served as Chief of Staff to the Dean of the School of Medicine / CEO of UNC Health. In this role she was a key leader and resource for the system throughout the COVID-19 pandemic and on many other major initiatives.

Katie holds a Master’s in Higher Education Administration from Northwestern University and a bachelor’s from Ohio Wesleyan University. Katie and her husband, Sam, live in Durham with their two children, Lily and Nora.
