ABGS attended the UnityWalk 2023 in Greensboro, NC. This event was hosted by the Faith Action Organization, New Arrivals Institute, North Carolina African Services Coalition, and more groups within the Greensboro Area focused on refugee and immigrant resettlement and holistic support. The Unity Walk and Festival is held annually in celebration of the diversity of this community and the continued fight for immigrant rights.
We tabled alongside other community groups and health organizations at this event to engage in educational and community outreach about genetics and genomics for public health care. We loved working with this vibrant community of cultures and learn about everyone’s opinions on genetic healthcare and other pressing issues.
