ABGS presented at La Fiesta del Pueblo 2023 in Raleigh NC. This festival, hosted by El Pueblo is the largest street festival in the Triangle, with over 20,000 people projected in attendance. There will be many performances, food vendors, and activities for attendees to participate in and see the diversity of Hispanic cultures in NC and beyond.
We connected with people from a vast array of Latine and Hispanic backgrounds to learn their experiences with healthcare, genomics, and health equity. At this event, our organization tabled alongside other community health and non-profit partners including the Eshelman School of Pharmacy Student Clinic. We assisted the students promote free health screening while educating the table visitors on genetic screening in healthcare.
