From March 7-9, the Age-Based Genomic Screening Team had the opportunity to be at the 49th Annual Unity Conference. This conference was held by the United Tribes of North Carolina at Charlotte, NC. We were able to attends various insightful talks and workshops about American Indian communities in NC which we were able to attend. It was also amazing to meet leaders throughout these tribes at our table at the conference center. While tabling, we were excited to speak to attendees about out educational material and project goals as well as receive their input in our research through a survey.

“United Tribes of North Carolina held our 49th annual Unity Conference in Charlotte, NC March 7th thru 9th, 2024. We had a great lineup of speakers, workshops, and special events such as gospel singing, banquet, and dance night for our paid attendees. Our Saturday Breakfast and awards presentations was followed by a free Cultural Exchange/Pow Wow that was open to the public.”
