Stephanie Land earned her B.S. in Biochemistry from Elon University in 2024, with minors in Psychology, Neuroscience, and Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. Her undergraduate Honors thesis focused on understanding the structures and mechanisms involved in aromatase enzyme inhibition, particularly its implications for estrogen receptor-positive breast cancer treatments. This research fueled her interest in health improvement.

During her time at Elon, Stephanie served as an Organic Chemistry Teaching Assistant and as a mentor for middle school Latina girls through the Dream Girls program, discussing important health topics such as mental, emotional, social, and physical health. These experiences led her to pursue community education on health topics.

Currently, Stephanie holds the position of Social/Clinical Research Assistant at the UNC School of Medicine’s Department of Genetics. In this position, she is working as a coordinator for the Community Research Board (CRB) and Community Engagement and Education Committee (CEECo) under the Age-Based Genomic Screening (ABGS) Project. Additionally, she is coordinating the Partnership Working Group (PWG) under the Clinical Genomic Resource (ClinGen).

Outside of work, Stephanie enjoys creating clothing, bags, and decor through crochet and spending time at the beach with her family.
