Dr. Jeremy Wang (Assistant Professor) was awarded a Faculty Research Support “Pivot” Grant from the Department of Genetics for his project focused on demonstrating efficient whole-genome Nanopore sequencing and assembly of Monkeypox virus (MPXV) genomes from clinical samples testing positive at UNC Medical Center’s Clinical Molecular Microbiology Lab (directed by Dr. Melissa Miller).
