From starting his genetics career catching kangaroos and jellyfish around Sydney, Australia, Scott identified the cause of a fatal genetic disease in Border Collie dogs for his PhD. Since then he has focused mainly on genome-wide association studies (GWAS) to identify variants that affect human traits and disease.
