Simmons Scholars
The Simmons Scholars program provides three to five years of salary support, structured mentorship, and career and leadership development opportunities.
We are committed to attracting an inclusive pool of outstanding students and expertly trained faculty. We do this because the school of medicine is committed to valuing all people, regardless of background, lifestyle, or culture. We know that an inclusive work environment for staff, students, and faculty helps foster appropriate care for patients. And this is essential to the fulfillment of our vision to improve the health of all North Carolinians.
On June 3rd the School of Medicine held a town hall to address the Equity, and Inclusion (EI) Path Forward plan. The plan highlighted two phases that included small group meetings, creating action items, and listing action items on our website.”
