Christopher “Chris” Ingersoll, PhD, has been selected to serve as Senior Associate Dean for Health Sciences and Chair for the Department of Health Sciences. He will begin work in his new role on July 15, 2024.

Ingersoll comes to the UNC from the University of Central Florida, where he is the founding dean for the College of Health Professions and Sciences. Prior to his time at UCF, he was at the University of Toledo in Ohio, holding several leadership roles, including vice provost of health science affairs and dean of the college of health and human services.

He received his PhD in biomechanics from the University of Toledo. His area of research is sports medicine, and he has published and presented on athletic training and neuroscience topics throughout his educational career.
