Stephan Moll, MD, received his medical degree from Freiburg University, Germany, and performed a pathology residency at the Institute of Pathology, University of Aachen, Germany. He completed an internship/residency in internal medicine and a hematology-oncology fellowship at Duke University Medical Center, North Carolina, and a one-year clinical coagulation fellowship at UNC-Chapel Hill. Moll is professor of medicine in the division of hematology-oncology has been a faculty member since 1999. His clinical interest is coagulation and classical hematology, with a particular focus on thrombosis and anticoagulation. His research interests include clinical trials on new anticoagulants and better use of established anticoagulants. He takes a special interest in clinical-medical education of patients, the public, and healthcare professionals, and is a cofounder of the UNC Blood Clot Education Program Clot Connect, at www.clotcotconnect.org. Suman Wasan, MD, from UNC Rex Healthcare, is a nationally-recognized vascular medicine specialist who recently came to Raleigh after directing the University of Oklahoma’s vascular medicine training program for 20 years.
