Transcatheter Versus Surgical Aortic Valve Replacement in Patients with Lower Surgical Risk Scores: A Systematic Review and Meta-analysis of Early Outcomes is the winner of the journal Heart, Lung and Circulation’s 2018 High Impact Award (Original Research, citations).

Cardiology fellow Dr. Sameer Arora is the lead author on this paper, which reviewed studies comparing transcatheter and surgical aortic valve replacement in the lower surgical risk population, finding that the two approaches appear to be comparable in short term outcomes. The paper was also a finalist for the journal’s Best Review Prize 2018.
