  • Silvia Kreda, PhD, was awarded an NIH SBIR Phase II grant to study molecules that enhance delivery of therapeutic oligonucleotides to correct lung diseases such as cystic fibrosis, with Rudolph Juliano, PhD.

Division of Infectious Diseases

  • Mina Hosseinipour, MD, MPH, was awarded a five-year grant from NIH/NHLBI to enhance blood supply in Malawi and successfully re-competed her NIH D43 training program for Malawians.
  • Jessica Lin, MD, and Jonathan Parr, MD, MPH, received an R21 entitled “Development of novel diagnostics for African non-falciparum malaria.”
  • Ed Brown, PhD, was awarded an SBIR Phase II NIH contract for UNC’s HIV Cure Center and Cell Microsystems to further develop single-cell diagnostic assay.
