“Research Day encourages our residents to participate in clinical and basic science research,” said Debra Bynum, MD, MMEL, Program Director for the Medicine Residency Program. “It also gives our departmental faculty the chance to share ideas and knowledge, and this stimulates discussions about opportunities to collaborate.”
The event showcased more than 30 participants representing all years of residents. Winners were chosen from three categories: clinical research, quality improvement and clinical vignette. Congratulations to the following residents:
Outstanding Presentation – Clinical Research
Anna Griffith, MD: Investigating the Effect of HCV SVR on Outcomes in Patients with Hepatocellular Carcinoma

Danielle File, MD: Plan-Do-Study-Act (PDSA) Cycles on Education of UNC Internal Medicine Residents during their Inpatient Oncology Rotation
