This award recognized Dr. Falk’s instrumental role in launching the ASN Foundation for Kidney Research and the Kidney Health Initiative.

Established in 2012, the ASN Foundation for Kidney Research, enables funding that directly supports research efforts to prevent and cure kidney diseases. The John P. Peters Award is an annual recognition named for one of the fathers of the discipline of nephrology. It recognizes individuals who have made substantial research contributions to the discipline of nephrology, with sustained achievements in one or more domains of academic medicine, including clinical care, education and leadership.
