What is your clinical expertise?

Adult critical illness including acute respiratory failure, ARDS, and septic shock.

Tell us about your current role in the Department of Medicine.

I am Chief of the Division of Pulmonary Diseases and Critical Care Medicine.

What current project or initiative at UNC are you involved in that you are excited about?

With other faculty in the division and collaborators from other institutions, I am conducting multiple clinical trials to identify better ways to communicate information about prognosis and goals of care with families of patients with critical illness.

What do you love most about Chapel Hill/UNC?

It is a nice region of diversity in the friendly and traditional South.

Where is an interesting place you’ve traveled?

Can Tho City, in the Mekong Delta.

How do you like to spend your free time?

Cycling and Golf
