The study “Fear of Movement and Associated Factors Among Adults with Symptomatic Knee Osteoarthritis” was published in Arthritis Care and Research. It concludes that fear of movement (FOM) is common for patients with osteoarthritis of the knee and suggests behavioral and psychological interventions may decrease FOM as well as improve outcomes.

Kelli Allen, PhD, was the Principal Investigator for the study, working with colleagues; Alexander Gunn, BA; Todd Schwartz, DRPH; Liubov Arbeeva, MA; Yvonne Golightly, PhD; Leigh Callahan, PhD; and Maura Iversen, DSc.
