Akshatha Kiran grew up outside of Raleigh, NC and attended NCSU to study Biochemistry. Developing an interest in public health after serving at a federally-qualified health center, Akshatha completed a Master’s of Public Health in Health Policy from the Yale School of Public Health. Following her MPH, Akshatha worked at Partners In Health, supporting the NC COVID-19 pandemic response alongside the NCDHHS. As a clinician, Akshatha hopes to serve as a bridge between patients and policymakers to ensure policies address existing patient and population-level needs effectively and sustainably. This Fall, she will be applying into Internal Medicine and is excited to connect with her peers about their interests within the IM/Med-Peds.
