Alana came to the United States with her family as a child and attended Emory for college where she majored in Psychology. She has been actively involved in multiple mentorship, leadership, and service work activities as a medical student including serving as the SIDE (Students for Inclusion, Diversity, Equity) Committee’s representative from the LMSA, the Director of the Puentes de Salud student dermatology clinic, and a member of the student Professionalism Committee. She has also served as the clinic coordinator for the Covenant House, a shelter for teenagers struggling with homelessness. In addition to her work as an Early Cutaneous Research Experiences Fellow, she will be completing a master’s degree in Bioethics. After her preliminary year, Alana will begin her advanced residency in Dermatology.
