Andrei Tong, MD

About

Andrei is from Boston and attended the Washington University in Saint Louis where he majored in Biochemistry. After college, Andrei worked for a year as a Case Management Assistant for Christ House, a medical respite facility for men who are experiencing homelessness. As a medical student, Andrei has continued to dedicate himself to caring for the underserved and vulnerable and has become a “Whole Person Care Coach” – helping other students to understand the importance of patient centered conversations. He has actively volunteered with the No One Dies Alone program, served as a peer academic coach and tutor, and was selected to be a group leader and communications director for the Academic Support Team for first- and second-year medical students. In recognition of his outstanding academic performance and commitment to his patients and peers, Andrei was inducted into both the AOA and Gold Humanism Honor Societies. Andrei is looking forward to being closer to his brother who lives in Raleigh and enjoys Boston sports and running!
