Cassie Almond, MD

About

Cassie grew up in a small town outside of Charlotte and attended UNC for college where she majored in Biology, Exercise, and Sport Science. She began working as a CNA at UNC and continued this work for another year after graduating, working to provide in-home clinical care to children with complex medical needs. As a medical student, she has been actively engaged in GI focused research, with support through the Carolina Medical Student Research program, and is a member of the Graham Research Society. As a Medical Education Concentration scholar, Cassie has worked to develop her skills in academic and clinical medical education and worked as a teaching assistant in the GI system block with first year medical students. Her medical education project is focused on developing a study to evaluate the current admissions process and clinical performance.
