Nick’s father was a retired NBA player and Orthopedic surgeon, and Nick initially thought he would potentially pursue Orthopedics as well but fell in love with the teamwork and specialty care provided by physiatrists and chose PM&R as a career. Nick founded the Dr. Alec Kessler Memorial Foundation, an organization that raises money for student scholarships for high school seniors. Nick has served as a volunteer with hospice, an academic tutor, and a volunteer with the Bridge II Sports program, an adapted sports organization that provides year-round opportunities for people with physical disabilities. Nick is excited to be joining his wife who is a rising PGY 3 resident in Pediatrics at UNC!
