Siena Cooper, MD

About

Siena grew up in a rural town in Indiana but has ties to the mountains of North Carolina. After high school, Siena began work as a professional horse trainer – traveling, coaching, and running the business. She later attended Purdue where she graduated with a degree in Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Science. As a medical student, Siena has been actively engaged in service and caring for the underserved as well as advocacy. She worked with the Indiana State Medical Association and also served as the Indiana student delegate to the AMA for three years, a role that involved actively writing resolutions and traveling to other states as a policy advocate. She envisions a future career in North Carolina where she can continue to care for marginalized patients and further her work in advocacy. In her spare time, Siena enjoys indoor gardening with tropical and exotic plants and hosts an educational plant blog.
