Congratulations to Craig R. Lee, Pharm.D., Ph.D., Associate Professor of Pharmacy, Division of Pharmacotherapy and Experimental Therapeutics, UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy; Adjunct Associate Professor of Medicine, Division of Cardiology, Department of Medicine, in collaboration with Larisa H. Cavallari, Pharm.D., BCPS, FCCP (University of Florida) and Joseph S. Rossi, M.D., MSCI, FACC, FSCA & George “Rick” A. Stouffer, III, M.D. (UNC Co-Investigators), for the receipt of R01 grant from NIH’s NHLBI.
Their grant, titled “Precision Antiplatelet Therapy After Percutaneous Coronary Intervention” to create a multi-center patient registry and study the clinical and genetic factors that influence patient outcomes after a stent procedure. With this funding, they will establish strategies that individualize antiplatelet therapy prescribing and improve patient outcomes. It is a 5-year grant for $3.5 million, with $1.3 million awarded to UNC, starting July 15, 2020.
