On May 4th, Carmen Marable (Fry Lab) successfully defended and passed her oral qualifying exam! The title of her research proposal is “The Role of the Placenta-Brain Axis in Children’s Neurodevelopment” Congratulations Carmen!

Rose is a graduate student in Jason Stein’s research group and was awarded a three year NIH F31 Research Fellowship. She matriculated into UNC after earning a B.S. in Biology from Haverford College. Her research investigates how cortical organoids model infant brain development and relate to risk for autism spectrum disorder.
