My lab is interested in the molecular mechanisms cells use to bend and shape membranes, with a particular focus on membrane trafficking and vesicle coat formation. Our primary area of research is in clathrin-mediated endocytosis, with a smaller focus on understudied vesicle coats in the endosomal and lysosomal compartments. We are expert in structural and biophysical techniques, with a primary focus on cryo-EM and developing methods to determine high-resolution structures of peripheral membrane proteins bound to the membrane.
