I am an innate immunologist with a focus on pulmonary infections including viral (influenza, SARS-CoV-2) and bacterial (Streptococcus pneumoniae). My training background is in signaling biochemistry and cell biology and the lab focuses on pathways like TBK1/IRF and mTOR in macrophages and neutrophils. We use a combination of mouse models and in vitro tissue culture. I also lead the divisional ICU biobanking effort that grew out of the COVID pandemic. As a clinician, I attend in the ICU and service as the MICU supervisor for CAR-T toxicities.
