As a cancer biologist, cellular and molecular biologist, as well as radiation oncologist, my ability to serve as co-I on this proposal, is demonstrated by, i] over 20 years of experience in radiation and cancer biology, with particular emphasis on studying the role of oxidative stress in the disease pathogenesis and demonstrating the mechanism (s) associated with tumor development and potential targets for the treatment of cancers, ii] published > 80 peer-reviewed papers on cellular and molecular aspects of diseases, and iii] serving as Investigators/co-investigators on NIH, industry, and foundation-supported research grants. In addition, I have worked with biomedical informatics and systems biologists closely in numerous studies in the past several years and participated in data collection, signaling analysis, biological explanation, and validation.
