Residency Program
The Department of Ophthalmology at UNC offers a 3-year Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) accredited residency training program. UNC Ophthalmology has a joint internship program with UNC’s Department of Internal Medicine, where our first-year residents train entering residency (PGY1). Our PGY2s-PGY3s Four residents match to the program each year, for a total of 12 residents in training each academic year.
