Kenya McNeal-Trice, MD, Professor of Pediatrics, has been elected President of the North Carolina Pediatric Society (NCPeds), the state chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics. Dr. McNeal-Trice is the Chief Graduate Medical Education Officer/ACGME Designated Institutional Official at UNC Hospitals, Senior Associate Dean for Graduate Medical Education at the UNC School of Medicine, and Vice Chair for Education in the Department of Pediatrics at the UNC School of Medicine.

The North Carolina Pediatric Society includes more than 2,500 pediatric care professional members from throughout North Carolina. Its mission is to empower pediatricians to ultimately optimize the wellbeing of North Carolina’s infants, children, and adolescents. NCPeds accomplishes its work through collaborative partnership with a variety of health and medical organizations and child advocacy organizations. Its members lend their expertise in many ways including service on public and private boards, councils, committees, and planning groups. NCPeds is a leader in advocacy at the regional, state and federal level.
