Congratulations to Jordan Walter, graduate student in Fulton Crews’ lab, for successfully defending his PhD thesis titled, “Ethanol and Microglia: From Molecules to Behavior,” on June 13, 2017! Way to go, Jordan!

Jordan’s girlfriend, Caitie Armstrong, and his Dad, Thomas Walter, came in from Virginia and Maryland, respectively, for his defense.

Jordan was an author on several papers published this year and last, including a first authored paper in Neuroinflammation, Microglial depletion alters the brain neuroimmune response to acute binge ethanol withdrawal.”

Jordan is in the MD/PhD Program so after he completes his thesis, he will return to UNC Medical School to complete his medical education.

We wish Jordan all the best in his future endeavors!
