Research

Clinical research is the study of health and illness in people. There are two main types of clinical research: observational studies and clinical trials. In the Department of Radiology at UNC our Radiologists, Residents, and Radiological Scientists are moving the needle forward in medicine by conducting cutting-edge research.

We are conducting research in many of our clinical divisions, including Cardiothoracic Diseases, Pediatric Diseases, Musculoskeletal Diseases, Cardiac Imaging and Cardiac Nuclear Medicine, PET/CT Imaging, Neurological Diseases, Abdominal and Pelvic Genito-urinary CT and MRI, Ultrasound, Abdominal and Pelvic MRI, and Vascular Interventional Research/Minimally Invasive Interventional Procedures (MIIPs).
