Dr. Higginson awarded with first annual Lineberger Clinical Fellow Award established to recognize UNC cancer trainees’ outstanding accomplishments in both clinical and research endeavors.
Dr. Daniel Higginson, a fourth-year resident and co-chief resident in radiation oncology, was one of three recipients of a first time Lineberger Clinical Fellow Award, Shelley Earp, MD, Lineberger Director recently announced. “This new award will recognize yearly several of our outstanding young physician-scientists and encourage their participation in UNC’s broad range of clinical, basic, public health and health services cancer research.”
Dr. Higginson is a co-principal investigator of a UNC Lineberger clinical trial evaluating radiation induced changes in retinal oxygenation, after receiving grants from the NCTraCs and the Radiological Society of North America to support his research.
