You may not participate if any of the following apply to you:
Under age 18
Over age 35
Menstrual cycles occur more frequently than 25 days OR does not occur within 35 days on average
BMI greater than 29, in accordance to Center for Disease Control criteria for obesity. If you are unsure, you can calculate this using your height and weight at: BMI Calculator
Never completed a pelvic exam (gynecological exam)
Abnormal PAP test within the past year (unless follow up PAP test is normal)
Current pregnancy, attempting pregnancy, or sexually active AND not using effective barrier protection (condoms)
Intrauterine Device in place (IUD)
History of more than one spontaneous pregnancy loss
Uterine abnormalities, such as fibroids
Breastfeeding
Chronic use of medications that might influence endometrial morphology, meaning the shape and appearance of the tissue that lines the uterus. Examples include hormonal mediations (including but not limited to) birth control pills, and other hormonal contraceptives.
Known cervical stenosis which would prevent easy endometrial biopsy
Known allergy to betadine (10%) or shellfish
Underlying major medical disorders
If you have a history of blood clots in your veins, history or current diagnosis of cancer, or have been previous instructed by your physician to avoid hormone replacement therapy and/or use of the medication Lupron or any similar drug known as “gonadotropin releasing-hormone (GnRH) analog”
