At the annual Society of Academic Urologists meeting (held at the AUA 2017 meeting), Dr. Smith participated in a panel discussion focused on women in the urology workforce. In 2014, Doximity physician network, in collaboration with US News & World Report, announced their first-ever national evaluation of residency programs across 20 specialties. At that time, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Urology Residency was ranked 20th among Urology programs nationwide. The second annual rankings were published this week, with the UNC Chapel Hill program rising to #16.
