When Dr. Hans Arora recently performed two particularly complex urologic surgeries simultaneously on a young patient, he utilized the most advanced techniques and robotic tools available. As a result, the child experienced far less discomfort than with a traditional “open” procedure, had several very small ½-inch scars vs. one large 12-inch scar the length of her abdomen, and went home in less than two days instead of spending five to seven days in the hospital.

Designed to support junior faculty within their first three years, LAMP aims to build a sense of community, purpose, direction, and confidence, facilitating a thriving career at UNC.

We are very excited to welcome Dr. Hans Arora to UNC Urology. Dr. Arora joins both our Adult and Pediatric Urology team – the second new peds faculty member in the last 6 months. Dr. Arora recently completed a Pediatric Urology Fellowship at the Lurie Children’s Division of Urology through the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. Dr. Arora joins us as an Assistant Professor of Urology and the Director of Robotic Surgery in Pediatric Urology.
